The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Session Hall became a venue of reflection and inspiration on January 9, 2025, as work immersion students from Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) marked the completion of their 80-hour program. In a series of moving exit speeches, the students recounted their journey into the world of local legislation – from mastering administrative tasks to witnessing democracy in action during committee hearings and regular sessions. By drafting executive summaries and engaging with office culture, these young Dagupeños moved beyond textbooks to learn the true meaning of being a responsible employee with a dedicated heart for public service.
This culmination highlights the SP’s steadfast mission to mold the city’s next generation of champions, adding another successful batch to its growing list of alumni. As one chapter closes, a new one begins with the arrival of several college interns eager to start their own professional journeys. Currently, the SP is hosting OJT students from the University of Pangasinan and Lyceum-Northwestern University (Political Science), and the University of Luzon (Criminology and Information Technology). Through these sustained immersion programs, the Sangguniang Panlungsod continues to bridge the gap between education and governance, ensuring a bright and capable future for Dagupan’s workforce.

Sangguniang Panlungsod Head Dean Bryan Kua attended a Responsible Panonood Campaign in Barangay Pantal to address the powerful influence of media on the youth. The event was notably attended by MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto, underscoring the national regulatory body’s support for local media literacy efforts. Recognizing that children are highly susceptible to quickly absorbing and spreading information across various platforms, the campaign emphasized the urgent need for media literacy education.

Relief efforts continue in Dagupan City as the second wave of relief goods from the DSWD and national government reached residents of Barangay Pantal, a community still recovering from the impact of Typhoon Uwan. The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) is in full support, ensuring the proper and equitable distribution of aid and maintaining peace and order throughout the operation.
Dagupan City officially launched its Christmas season with the spectacular Liwawa Ya Pasko (Light of Christmas) ceremony at Nepo Mall on November 14. The festive event was organized and hosted by JDN Realty, marking the traditional start of the holidays by celebrating the “enduring light of community and heritage.” The city’s legislative body, the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), was prominently in attendance and expressed its full support, with Vice Mayor Dean Bryan Kua and Majority Floor Leader Councilor Michael Fernandez leading the officials present. Fernandez, in close coordination with the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and national government agencies, is conducting a systematic relief operation for residents affected by Typhoon Uwan. The initiative, pictured here in Barangay Lucao, ensures the orderly and proper distribution of essential goods to heavily impacted Dagupenos, prioritizing families in the most vulnerable situations.
November 10, 2025. Dagupan City declared a State of Calamity in preparation for Super Typhoon Uwan. The City Council announced the measure during an emergency session conducted via zoom, which allows for the immediate release of emergency funds and the fast-tracking of critical relief operations.
November 9 2025. In a proactive response to the impending threat of Typhoon Uwan, approximately 50 families, comprising 185 individuals from Barangay Lasip Grande, have been safely relocated to the Dagupan City Peoples Astrodome. The local government, with Vice Mayor BK Kua actively involved in monitoring the situation, has designated the Astrodome as a primary evacuation center to ensure the safety of residents in vulnerable areas.
Dagupan City’s commitment to educational advancement remains strong as officials led the blessing and inauguration of a new 2-story classroom building at Lasip Grande Elementary School. The City Health Office (CHO) successfully hosted a lively Trick or Treat event, bringing Halloween excitement to young Dagupenos. Kids, dressed as their favorite characters, were thrilled to receive generous gifts and goodies. The event transformed the CHO into a festive, fun, and safe venue for families to celebrate the holiday, underscoring the city’s focus on community well-being and wholesome engagement.
