Dagupan sizzles with Record-Breaking Bangus Grill & Star-Studded Street Party

The 2025 Bangus Festival climaxed in epic fashion as Dagupan- the Bangus Capital of the Philippines- grilled a jaw-dropping 25,000 milkfish at Kalutan ed Dalan, smashing last year’s record by 5,000! Mayor Belen Fernandez and Vice Mayor BK Kua kicked off the fiery spectacle, joined by senators, celebrities, and officials, celebrating Dagupan’s thriving Bangus legacy.

The excitement didn’t stop there- the Bangusan Street Party 2025 drew a million spectators across nine electrifying concert stages! Headliners like KZ Tandingan, Rico Blanco, Gloc-9, and PBB stars set the crowd ablaze, while GMA artists, hip-hop battles, and Mobile Legends finals kept the energy sky-high.

Dagupeños are hyped as they look forward to what is expected as a bigger and grander 2026 Bangus Festival.

Sangguniang Panlungsod Joins 1 Million Attendees in Celebrating Bangus Festival 2024

Dagupan City celebrates its annual Bangus Festival on April 30, 2024. This year sees attendance skyrocket as Dagupan PNP estimates a record one million attendees enjoying live entertainment and more than twenty thousand grilled milkfish. Bangus Festival is headed by Dagupan City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and supported by Vice Mayor Dean Bryan ‘BK’ Kua, and Minority Councilors – Michael Fernandez, Marcelino Fernandez, Dennis Canto, Jeslito Seen, and Bradley Benavides.

Dagupan Bids Farewell to ‘Mr. Abig Laman,’ Dr. Jesus Canto

Headed by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, Vice Mayor Dean Bryan Kua, Minority Councilors, Barangay City Officials, close friends and supporters, the entire city hails the life and incredible career of one of the most celebrated public servants of Dagupan City, Dr. Jesus Canto.

Vice Mayor Dean Bryan ‘BK’ Kua shares anecdotes about the former councilor.

A 3-term City Councilor(2007-2016), Dr. Jess focused on his advocacy by creating ordinances in improving public health. He conducted free medical missions and health seminars that got him the moniker ‘Mr. Abig Laman.’ In the 2023 celebration of Dagupan City’s 75th Diamond Jubilee, he is the recipient of Pinablin Dagupeño Diamond Award for Public Service for his unparalleled contributions to the city.

Councilor Dennis Canto, son of Dr. Jesus Canto, is full of gratitude for the outpour of love and support for his late father. “Lahat ng messages of support ease the pain of losing him. Kami po ay very proud sa lahat ng achievements niya at lahat ng itinuro niya sa amin ay gagamitin namin at parang nandito pa rin po siya.” He thanks all Dagupeños and vows to continue his father’s legacy.
